The depiction of a young man's downward spiral as told from his fluxing point of view. "The Good Worker" is
the second in a trilogy of films depicting the psychological downfall of 3 very different people. I'm making the
trilogy in order to deal with the same theme in different cinematic styles. Exhibit A was the first in the series.
Shot and edited in August 2005, "The Good Worker" is a highly improvisational film. There was a very
basic outline that detailed the arc of the characters. I followed Mark Dew around with the camera and we
made many discoveries about the character and the story as we went. It was a very freeing way to work
because the structure and style allowed us to take chances that we wouldn't have the opportunity to take
on a conventional movie set. It is a minimalist film told visually as possible and with sparse use of dialogue.
